Recently

I've been getting minor injuries on my legs. 2 weeks ago, I fell off the bus. Nope, you didn't read wrongly. I fell off the bus. Was walking down the steps, next moment, I found myself on fours on the sandy ground. -_- It's like the second time I fell of the bus in 5 years. The last time I fell was in sec 2. And my knees were scraped badly and bleeding. I limped all the way home. =( This time, I had jeans on (phew!) and just suffered a bruise. Getting mosquito bites on my thighs, my foot and even my toe! These mosquitoes really good at aiming those hard-but-shiok-to-scratch parts. No idea how I got blisters on my big toe, but this blister didn't hurt a single bit. Found it when I was in the showers. It felt like those bubble wraps where you cannot stop bursting the bubbles. Now the blister is no longer there. It got me too tempted to peel it off. I trimmed my hair and I regret it. I like the length. But not the mess. So decided to visit the saloon and get a trim to rid those splits. This is how short it is now. I so damn regret can! And no, I didn't rebond it. It took me like months to grow that length. That's the bad thing about my hair. I want it long, but never long enough before I have to trim off the ends. Shit. I gotta start doing something about it. Nourish and treat it well. I had a semi formal presentation. I think I wear like that quite nice. Hehe! And the photo turned out pretty good. The career woman behind the notebook. Wahahaha! But not the 'twist' pose. I didn't know it would turn out that retarded. That day, Vic greeted me "Good morning Boss." Heh! Really look like boss huh? Imagine, just imagine. Me walking towards a big conference room filled with 20 people all sitted down, waiting for me. Then as I take my first step in, these 20 people greet me "Good morning, Boss." Wah seh. I'm dreaming man.

School starts tomorrow

The holiday always ends faster than any other days. Damn. Mum is back from Europe after 12 days. I was back much earlier than her. Sucky. Projects gotta be continued. Yucks. Attachment right after projects. That means no holiday before next semester. Shit. The only happy thing about school is... probably nothing. Urgh!

Bangkok, my ideal shopping place!

It was such a coincidence that both Baby and I were on our first air trip in 7 years. The last time I took a plane was in primary 6 and he, secondary 1, exactly 7 years ago. =) Now we're taking it together. Just 2 months after our Genting trip in April, we were packing our bags for this Bangkok trip that I've been so anxious about. Other than the shopping paradise that Nana jie described, I wanted to taste original and traditional Thai food once more. The last time I went to Thailand was a primary school educational trip to Chiangmai, also the last time I took the plane. I loved the food even more than our own local food. Hot & spicy tom yum soups can never fail to make my mouth water. Anyway, we weren't the least excited about the trip only until the very day. Day 1 Baby's dad sent us to the airport at 8am when our flight was at 10.55am. We met up with my cousin who was going Bangkok as well, but with his friends. His flight was at 9.20am. So we talked a lil while Baby had breakfast at Burger King. I took breakfast at some 'kopitiam' below BK. There. My breakfast. After breakfast, we idled around before checking in our luggages. Our flight was delayed for 30 min. Ended up, the gate only opened at 10.25am. Mini plane of Air Asia. The interior was squeezy but who could complain? It's cheaper than SIA. This chicken and seaweed sandwich cost 80 baht. Approx S$3+. It was really nice. We alighted this way. Then a bus came to take us to the airport terminal. During check out, Baby was telling me that a guy kept looking at me. I turned and realised he was a senior of mine back in sec sch. Then I a few others behind me. Small world! We went to pick up our luggages and looked around for cabs. The bloody airport taxis charged 700 baht (S$29) for travelling from the aiport to anywhere around Bangkok. Cheat! We paid only 300 baht (S$12.50) for outside taxis. We rode in this big taxi which car model I forgot. Very nice uncle. I love the taxis in Bangkok! Not only they are freaking cheap (flag-down rate only 35baht = S$1.40!), they are sparkling clean as well! They use Toyota Altis man. Not like our lao kok kok Toyota Crown. The taxis have really cool colours. Pink Orange Green Yellow Blue 2 colour! Still have red and bronze but I wasn't fast enough to catch them. I bet the percentage of taxis on the road is higher than personal vehicles. You see taxis everywhere! We reached our hotel, Asia Hotel, after a 30-min drive from the airport. Checked in and proceeded to our room. Photos of the room will come at the end of this post. We settled our things in the room before setting out in search for food. We tried the BTS aka Skytrain that was conveniently located at level 2 of our hotel. Tickets for 2 cost 30 baht (S$1.25)! Not only their BTS platform resembles our Mrt's, they also use these what we used to call Farecards! Their tracks look different though. Their seats are nicer and not as squeezy. But there's this smell I disliked. Anyway, first stop was to the four-faced buddha temple that Baby needed to go to make offerings on behalf on his uncle. The sun was blazing that I was practically baked under it. Thus, we decided to find a air-con eating place. Day 1 Lunch. Mixed pork noodles. Very nice! Lunch for 2 only S$4, including drinks! We walked around some more after lunch and went back to the hotel to change to cooler clothes. Then we took a cab to Suan Lum Night Bazaar. This place was bustling with crowds of tourists and locals. Cheap stuff, from clothes to furniture, were found there. I wanted to buy the cute chairs back but it's too cumbersome to bring back. =( Dinner just cost us 100 baht (S$4)! We bought 1 share of phad thai with 4 sticks of bacon, meatballs and sausage. I love Phad Thai! I declare it my favourite food now! But haven't tasted SG version, so not sure how it taste. While shopping, I bought a few items and came across this shop that sold hand-painted t-shirts. This artist is damn good! So I asked for his permission to take a photo of him painting. Should have taken his hair as well. He looked like the Predator. He's really talented. The day ended early as we were both quite tired and hot due to the humidity. Gosh! It was still better compared to the 2nd day. We went back to our room to watch the World Cup. We couldn't catch any thai shows as it was the King's 60th anniversary as the King so they were showing the celebration on every thai channel available. -_- Day 2 We were out early morning in search for cheaper deals. Proceeded to Baiyoke where I couldn't get anything I liked, but Baby got some tops. The alleys in Bangkok were pretty narrow but vehicles were squeezing their way through along with the people. There were a few times we were so close to getting knocked down by these reckless drivers. We wanted to get some food from the street stalls, but considering the hygiene and not wanting to spend the rest of the day in the toilet, we settled for Indian cuisine at a restaurant for breakfast cum lunch. I cannot remember their names. Actually I don't even know how to pronounce them. We just ordered from the menu. Haha! It was the best Indian food I've eaten! And it's not roti prata. The potato curry was just fantastic! We left Baiyoke and went to Siam Centre, a shopping centre near our hotel. The busy road outside Siam Centre. We went to the food court and I was pretty amazed by how attractive it was. We weren't allowed to take photos there but I managed to take a few. Hehe. Click to enlarge We ordered 1 'Kway Chap' to share, Delicious!, and a plate of fruits. Then I saw many wallpapers that were promoting the World Cup. Then I came across Steven Gerrard's and took this photo to spite Syahriah. Haha! We took a tuk-tuk back after that because we couldn't bargain with the shops there. Haha if we did, it would have just made us look stupid and 'suaku'. Taxis everywhere we go... The driver still stopped halfway to chat with his fellow tuk-tuk friends. Haha! We paid him 40 baht (S$1.70). After a short rest in our room, we went for dinner at Maboonkong (??) aka MBK. Dinner was at Sushi Tei as Baby wanted something Jap. All these including drinks cost 495 baht (S$20)! In SG, I doubt you can get such a price. Next, we went to Patpong, another night market. We were quite terrified of that place so we only spent a while looking around. I'll tell you why. Because of this! Anybody got a super pussy? There were countless times we were approached by people to watch their girls dance on bartops in bikinis for free, or pay for their Pussy shows where girls will show their vaginas to the world and perform stunts with them, for example, putting a ping pong ball into their vaginas and shooting it out. Gross, I know. Despite my curiosity on how they do it, I was more grossed out by the thought of it, so I declined the offers. All these performances came in a menu where you can select whichever you wanna watch, pay and enjoy puke. Haha! I heard they would even fuck in front of you. Wahahaha! Live porn! Baby and I were rather turned off by the sights of fat women dancing on bartops because the doors of the bars were kept open so we left Patpong. We went back to Suan Lum! My favourite! We took the Ferris Wheel this time round and took photos of how Suan Lum looked from the top. It's really big and very confusing inside. The 2nd night was extremely hot. We were sticky all over. Big! Pretty Ferris Wheel. Bling bling all over. Haha. We didn't buy much that night. Kinda wasted. The place was too big for us to find what we wanted. But I got Bei's present that night. The girl who attended to me could speak chinese. Felt so warmth at heart to hear someone speaking a language you know. Aww... We bought supper back to our room. The same Phad Thai again! Couldn't help it. It was heavenly! By the way, I know it looks like Mee Pok but it's actually fried thin kway tiao wrapped in egg. Ha! We watched World Cup again. Then off to bed. Day 3 We were deciding where to go as we have circled the areas we wanted to go on the map. Next, Bo-Bae. Weather was hot as usual. We were tempted by air con so we stepped into Bo-Bae Tower. Hahahahahahaha! I cannot stop laughing now cos I cannot stop thinking of how bloody cheap the things are there. Everything is wholesale. Everything is so cheap! I bought 36 pairs of earrings for just freaking S$8!! Even during lunch, I couldn't stop laughing about my purchases. At Bo-Bae, we used food vouchers. Go buy 4D! I had Tom Yum Seafood noodle soup. Baby had pork noodles. We shopped from 10am to 4pm just in Bo-Baw tower alone! And we weren't complete! There were total of 6 levels and sub levels at each level. I don't know how to explain. All I can say that place is huge and confusing, just like Suan Lum. But better cos got air con. Ok, I know these 2 photos don't do any justice to Bo-Bae Tower (I wasn't allowed to take photos =( ) but be assured their things are very trendy and hip and freaking cheap! We could barely hold anymore bags so our shopping came to a halt. We took a cab back to our hotel and rested our feet before setting out again at night. Dinner was at Siam Centre foodcourt again. I'm not sure if I've been psychoed by others that Thai food is really delicious or their food is REALLY delicious, I had no complaints at all! Phad Thai, again! I had Duck Rice. Super delicious! Their Ha Gao, in my opinion, was better than Crystal's Jade. We walked around a bit after dinner. Siam Centre, Siam Paragon and MBK were all neighbours. This is Siam Paragon. Grand but rather empty. More spacious than SG's paragon. We spent our night shopping at Siam Centre on goodies to bring back home. We bought quite a bit of dried food back. Tired and restless, we went back to the hotel, with Pringles and Coke for supper. Day 4 Time to pack our bags for home. =( I didn't want to leave at all! We were up too early and shops weren't opened yet. Anyway, anybody remember this? Curly fries!! OMG! They were my favourite when I was a kid. I almost went on a hunger strike when A&W closed down. =( By the way, that was Baby's breakfast. Chicken burger. I had Teriyaki Fish with rice. Yummy! Oh man! I missed this! Check out time was at 12pm and we had to do some last minute shopping at MBK. Bought a few bags and tops for Baby's mum and myself. Rushed back to the hotel and took photos of our room before we bade that place farewell. The antique and heavy key that we could hear other guest carrying along the corridor because of the "cling cling" sound. Our room faced the BTS track and main road. Click to enlarge We booked the deluxe room. Spacious and comfy. I like! Damn! I left my pringles and coke there! All our purchases were stuffed into our luggages and this Burberry bag that cost 120 baht (S$5). The time to finally bid the room goodbye has come. Baby and I took a cab down to the airport. It was still early for check in when we reached. So we went for lunch at the restaurant. Baby ate pork noodles again. (Why keep eating the same ah?) I ate beef kway tiao. More like kway chap. Haha. Very nice also la! Thai ice tea and 7 up. Even the food at the airport was cheap. I really didn't want to leave. Cos I know I wouldn't starve if I were thrown there. We queued up to check in our luggages. Luckily we didn't exceed the weight limit for each person or we would have to pay. Home sweet home! By right, this post would have been longer but if not for Blogger that lagged, I would have included more photos. This could be the first and last time I blogged with 60 over photos. It took me almost 3 days to sort out all the photos and edit them and then post them up. By the way, photos of my purchases will come later. Hope you guys enjoyed this post. If anyone wanna go Bangkok, count me in!

Bangkok awaits me

Muahahaha! Before anyone starts to wonder if I've been missing, I'd better let you all know I'm going off soon. On Monday, in fact. So yeah, if you remember, I mentioned my mum will be leaving for Europe on the same day but her flight will be at night while mine, in the morning. And then, my cousin told me he was going Bangkok on Monday as well! What a coincidence.
Left, my mum's. Right, mine. Europe vs Bangkok. My luggage's rather empty currently. Hoping to bring back a bursting luggage and a few more additional bags. Muahahahaha! Mummy prepared good food last night for me because I won't be home today. Be at my boy's place so that we can go over to airport together. Mummy will be all alone. =( Right. Now is lunch. Mummy's prepared good food again. I feel like I'm having the last supper or something. OK my friends. See you guys when I'm back on friday. Take care! Ps. Beibei, I owe u a birthday present. Get it from me after I return k? Haha and don't forget KBox!!
